Retail Credit Card Processing
Any merchant that swipes credit cards with the cardholder present, or swipes more than 70% of transactions, would be considered a Retail Merchant.
Whether you have a brick and mortar location, restaurant or kiosk, Precision Payment Services can help your business establish a merchant account and accept credit cards quickly and painlessly.
As a retail merchant you should be informed before choosing a merchant account provider and a Point Of Sale solution. Selecting the wrong provider can result in high priced equipment leases or purchases, as well as higher monthly processing fees.
What is a Retail merchant account and what does it do?
Before you can select the right merchant account provider you need to understand what a merchant account is and the value it offers your business.
A merchant account is a special account that allows businesses to accept and process credit card orders. After a customer swipes their credit card through a terminal, the information is passed securely to a processing bank. The processing bank verifies that there is enough available credit in the customer’s account to complete the transaction. If there are insufficient funds, the card is rejected and a message is displayed on the terminal read-out screen. Assuming the funds are available, the merchant will receive the funds within 2 to 3 business days.
